The change of generations in the International Youth Organisations is inevitable and quite fast in many cases, often leading to the loss of the knowledge base and know-how. In order to make youth work sustainable it is therefore important to prevent this loss and create tools and methods that will support the transfer of knowledge and experiences from one generation to the other.
This project aimed to gather young people that have been active in prep-teams in the past and have build up cultural, organisational and managerial knowledge that would be a great base for future members of the preparatory groups. The goal of these publications is to sum-up the knowledge, experiences and practical advice of realising a project and to create a concrete guideline Manual that will, together with the Workbook, the website and CD/DVD tools help the new generation of youth activists not “invent the wheel again” but to have the base that can be further built.
Developing activities all over Europe is a great cultural experience and this aspect was especially placed in the centre of this project development. The practice showed that same methods might not function in dissimilar cultural milieu and the experience of the adaptation to local conditions has been in core of many successful activities.
